Healix overview
Healix is a privately owned group founded in 1992, headquartered in Esher, with two arms: Healix International (global travel and medical assistance, including UK government and MOD contracts) and Healix Health, the UK's leading independent corporate healthcare trust provider, caring for over 200,000 people for clients including Diageo, Tata Consultancy Services and ClearBank.
There is no standalone Healix EAP product. Healix administers self-funded healthcare trusts for employers of 300+, plus Healix ConneX (virtual GP and mental health support) for smaller companies, and its EAP layer has historically been a partner arrangement: the Workplace Wellness EAP delivered by Vita Health Group, announced in 2018, integrated with Healix's nurse-led pathways. Whether Vita remains the partner in 2026 is unconfirmed.
Healix has almost no consumer review footprint: no Trustpilot profile, a 4.1 Google rating from 80 reviews, and a 2.7 Glassdoor score from its own staff.

Counselling on Healix
Healix does not employ EAP counsellors. Employees claim through the Member Zone portal or My Healix app, where an in-house nurse-led case management team triages and directs them to the most appropriate benefit, which can include trust-funded private mental health treatment or the partner EAP.
Under the Vita-delivered EAP model, employees presenting with mental health concerns are clinically assessed and offered a personalised intervention rather than a fixed session count; exact entitlements are unpublished and depend on the trust's design.
The joined-up trust model is clever for complex cases and avoids paying twice for the same care. The trade-off is process: a struggling employee's route to a counsellor runs through a claims portal and a nurse assessment, not a booking button.

Integrations
The trust model itself is the integration: private medical, cash plan, dental and mental health under one self-funded vehicle, with surpluses staying in the client's trust rather than going to an insurer. No workplace tool integrations.
Confidentiality
Confidential nurse-led handling of medical information is central to the pitch; ISO 27001 certified.
Extras
24/7 virtual GP for all trust clients, outsourced claims management, occupational health and absence management partner arrangements, and Healix International's medical assistance capability.

What Healix does well
Trust economics for large employers
Self-funded trusts remove insurer margin and insurance premium tax from the risk element, and clients value surpluses staying in their own trust. For 300+ employee firms with stable claims data, the economics are genuinely attractive.
Nurse-led clinical navigation
The in-house nurse case management team is the best-reviewed part of the operation, steering employees to the right benefit rather than the default one.
The concerns
No public service evidence
No Trustpilot profile, an app with almost no ratings, and a 2.7 Glassdoor score from staff (with recurring management and culture complaints) leave buyers with little independent evidence of the employee experience.
Mental health support behind a claims process
Access runs through portals, codes and nurse triage, with unpublished session entitlements. That is a lot of process between a bad week and a counsellor.
In Summary
Healix is really a healthcare financing company, and judged as one it is credible: the UK's leading independent trust administrator, serious clinical governance, and blue-chip clients who value the economics.
As a mental health benefit, it is indirect by design. The EAP is a partner bolt-on, session entitlements are opaque, and everything routes through claims infrastructure built for medical treatment, not for someone who needs to talk to a therapist this week.
Large employers running Healix trusts should treat fast-access therapy as a gap to fill alongside the trust, not a box the trust already ticks.
How Healix compares to Spill
Healix finances healthcare; Spill delivers it, at least the mental health part. On Healix, support starts with a claims portal and a nurse assessment; on Spill, it starts with one click in Slack or MS Teams and usually ends in a same-day session with a BACP-registered counsellor. Therapy is unlimited, with no entitlement small print.
The two are complementary rather than competitive: several Spill customers run trust or PMI arrangements for physical health alongside Spill for mental health. Spill's pricing is published, from £75 a month on a rolling 30 day contract with no exit fees, and it goes live in hours rather than a trust-design cycle.
Choose Healix if you are a 300+ employee firm optimising healthcare financing through a self-funded trust. Choose Spill if you want the mental health layer solved properly: unlimited, same-day, one click, no claims forms.
