Plumm overview
Plumm is a London company founded around 2018 by Asim Amin after his own recovery from a mental health crisis. It began as a workplace therapy platform and pivoted during 2024 and 2025 into an all-in-one AI-powered HR platform (HRIS, payroll, ATS, learning, performance) with wellbeing as one module, now competing with HiBob and Personio as much as with EAPs.
It claims 30,000+ users, with customers including Innocent Drinks, LadBible, BAFTA, Ubisoft and Tide, and raised a Series A of just over £2.2 million in November 2023, small next to its competitors.
Its G2 score is a healthy 4.6, with multilingual therapy the standout feature reviewers cite.

Counselling on Plumm
Employees choose their own therapist from a network of 170 to 200 accredited therapists and coaches, filtering by language (17 languages) and focus area, and book video sessions at self-selected times; 24/7 chat therapy is also offered.
Employer contracts include an allowance of therapy sessions rather than unlimited access; one long-term customer describes using up their video sessions and buying more, so it is effectively a credits model, with coaching counted separately.
Users can switch therapists easily. The recurring complaints are slow therapist message replies (one user waited two weeks) and availability gaps for popular therapists and distant time zones.

Integrations
Slack, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Google Workspace and Okta are listed, though one reviewer notes the Slack integration is only message notifications. HRIS integrations are a noted weakness, ironic given the pivot.
Confidentiality
Anonymous therapy access with GDPR compliance, encrypted conversations and Cyber Essentials certification.
Extras
Emma AI wellbeing chat companion, mood tracking, meditations, monthly live events, a 600+ course learning library including MHFA and CPD-certified training, TrustLine anonymous whistleblowing, wellbeing analytics and an outsourced Managed Wellbeing service.

Best reviews for Plumm
Accessible multilingual therapy
The most repeated praise is easy access to therapy in your native language, which employees say makes sessions far more effective, and which global teams use to bridge slow local waiting lists.
Responsive team
Fast, friendly support, dedicated account managers even for small companies, and 48-hour implementations get consistent praise.
Bad reviews for Plumm
Clunky product experience
G2's cons cluster on complex navigation, app crashes, glitchy messaging and a booking system where mistakes are hard to fix; recent App Store reviews say the app has gone downhill.
Therapist responsiveness and the HR pivot
Delays getting therapist replies, slots that book up, and wellbeing-first customers who dislike the forced HR platform expansion cluttering their dashboards.
In Summary
Plumm's founding insight, that language is the biggest barrier to therapy for global teams, remains its best feature, and companies with multilingual workforces genuinely benefit from 17-language therapist matching.
The strategic question is focus. The company is now building an entire HR suite on a Series A of £2.2 million, and the reviews tell the story of a product stretched thin: therapy delays, app decay, and wellbeing customers asking to switch the HR modules off.
If you want its therapy, price the session credits realistically; allowances run out and top-ups are paid.
How Plumm compares to Spill
Both are London companies that put therapy at the centre, but they have diverged: Plumm is becoming an HR platform with a wellbeing module and a session-credits model that runs out; Spill has stayed a pure mental health product with unlimited therapy, no credits, no top-ups. Counsellors are BACP-registered, from the top 5 percent of applicants, and sessions are booked in one click with same-day availability rather than two-week message waits.
Spill's Slack and MS Teams presence is the product surface, not a notification feed, and pricing is published: from £75 a month on a rolling 30 day contract with no exit fees. If you need a language Spill's 15+ do not cover, Plumm's 17-language network is worth checking against your specific list.
Choose Plumm if you need therapy in a specific language Spill does not cover, or you want an HR suite and wellbeing from one vendor. Choose Spill if you want unlimited therapy where speed to a counsellor is the whole point.
