Spill's employee assistance programme (EAP) for charities and non-profits
Charity teams absorb rising demand with shrinking budgets, and too often the people fighting for others pay with their own wellbeing. Only 36% of charity workers now say their workload is achievable. Spill gives charities and non-profits proper mental health support at a price a trustee board can get behind.
Same day counselling sessions
Rolling 30 day contract
Unlimited access from £75 per month

Proudly supporting charities and non-profits across the UK

Mission-driven work shouldn't cost your team their wellbeing
Charity work strains mental health in a particular way. Mission-driven commitment and emotional labour, often including direct exposure to beneficiaries' trauma, combine with below-market pay and chronic under-resourcing. Staff absorb rising demand through unpaid hours while struggling financially themselves.
Rising burnout
30% of UK charities reported a rise in staff burnout or exhaustion over the past year. (Pro Bono Economics / NTU, 2023)
Unmanageable workloads
Only 36% of charity workers feel their workload is achievable, down from 53% in 2019. (Charity Well, 2025)
Planning to leave
60% of charity workers plan to change job within the next year. (CharityJob Pay & Retention Report, 2024)
When your staff thrive, so does your mission
With 60% of charity workers planning to change jobs within a year, burnout is now a delivery risk, not just an HR issue. Spill helps you keep the people who power the mission.

FAQs
The best EAP for charities balances quality with a budget you can defend to trustees: proper therapy rather than a helpline, transparent flat pricing, and no long lock-in. Spill is the UK's highest rated EAP on Trustpilot, with unlimited, same-day counselling from £75 a month on a rolling 30 day contract. Charities like Friends of the Earth, The Humane League and Tusk Trust use Spill to support their teams. Traditional helpline EAPs cost less per head, but they cap sessions at 6 to 8 a year and route staff to call handlers first, which is why usage tends to sit at 3 to 5%.
Spill starts at £75 per month for your whole team, on a rolling 30 day contract you can cancel with 30 days' notice. For a 25-person charity that works out at £3 per employee per month, including unlimited counselling sessions. That's a line item you can justify to a board: transparent, flat, and cancellable. An EAP for charities is a confidential mental health and wellbeing service that organisations provide to their staff. A charity-focused EAP (like Spill) should understand mission-driven pressure, exposure to beneficiaries' trauma and the strain of doing more with less. Spill provides same-day counselling, self-guided resources and manager training, accessible at any time.
Charity staff often care deeply about a cause while being under-resourced and underpaid. Many are directly exposed to beneficiaries' distress, then absorb rising demand through unpaid hours. Pro Bono Economics found burnout rising across the sector. Passion and purpose can mask a real risk of exhaustion.
The charity sector has one of the highest turnover rates of any sector, at around 18% a year. Spill gives staff confidential, unlimited support that makes them feel genuinely cared for, which is linked to greater job satisfaction and longer tenure. That keeps the people who power your mission.
Yes. Spill works for small, local charities and social enterprises as well as large national organisations, and you can be up and running within days. Pricing starts from £75 per month on a 30 day rolling contract, with no minimum staff number. We're proud to support values-driven organisations.
Yes. Spill's counselling is available the same day, including evenings and weekends, because plenty of people don't work standard office hours. Yes, Spill operates in compliance with GDPR and UK data protection law. Spill is fully secure and therapy sessions are strictly confidential. Video sessions run on an end-to-end encrypted service and all messages to and from therapists are secure.
