Spill's employee assistance programme (EAP) for management consulting firms
Sixty-hour project weeks. Sunday-night trains to client sites. An up-or-out review cycle that keeps everyone slightly on edge. Consulting asks a lot, and most firms' wellbeing support amounts to a laminated helpline poster. Spill is different: same-day therapy with top 5% counsellors, bookable from any hotel room between 7am and 9:30pm GMT, fully confidential with no referral step, for £75 a month across the whole firm.
Same day counselling sessions
Rolling 30 day contract
Unlimited access from £75 per month

Proudly supporting consultants across the UK

What consulting culture does to consultants
77% of UK consultants work more than their contracted hours, averaging 9.3 extra unpaid hours a week (Consultancy.uk). Stack that on top of client travel, utilisation targets and an up-or-out culture, and you get an industry where burning out can look, from the outside, like performing well.
Long hours
77% of UK consultants work more than their contracted hours, an average of 9.3 extra unpaid hours a week. (Consultancy.uk)
Always-on exhaustion
Around half of professionals always or often feel exhausted (52%) or stressed (49%). (Deloitte, 2024)
A stressed workforce
91% of UK adults faced high or extreme pressure or stress in the past year. (Mental Health UK, 2026)
The commercial case for supporting consultants
Every consultant who burns out mid-engagement costs you a client relationship as well as a hire. Spill keeps people well enough to do their best thinking, and gives your firm a genuine answer when recruits ask about wellbeing.

FAQs
Consultants are trained to look fine, which makes confidentiality the first test of any EAP. Spill has no referral step and shares aggregate data only, so an analyst worried about their next review can get help with zero visibility. The second test is access: Spill sessions are bookable via Slack, MS Teams, SMS or email and run 7am to 9:30pm GMT, seven days a week, which suits people living out of suitcases. The third is depth: no session caps, unlike traditional EAPs that stop at 6 to 8, and matching from the top 5% of counsellors. Stroud International and Good Growth use Spill, the UK's highest rated EAP on Trustpilot. Helpline EAPs are cheaper, but their call-centre model sees usage of just 3 to 5%.
Spill costs £75 a month for the whole firm on a rolling 30 day contract. For a 30-person consultancy, that's £2.50 per person per month, with unlimited same-day sessions included. Set it against one consultant's day rate and it pays for itself the first time it keeps someone billable and well. Book a demo and we'll show you how it works.
Spill gives everyone in your firm direct access to therapy. Sessions are booked through Slack, MS Teams, SMS or email, often for the same day, with therapists from the top 5% of counsellors available 7am to 9:30pm GMT, seven days a week, in 15+ languages. There's no referral step, no gatekeeping, and partners only ever see aggregate usage figures.
Long weeks compound. With 77% of UK consultants working beyond contracted hours, averaging 9.3 extra unpaid hours a week (Consultancy.uk), fatigue becomes the baseline, and up-or-out pressure stops people admitting it. The result is attrition, quiet underperformance and engagements that wobble. Spill interrupts that cycle with same-day, confidential support that fits between client calls and travel days.
Yes. Boutique consultancies are some of Spill's happiest customers. There's no minimum team size, £75 a month covers the whole firm, and launch takes days rather than a procurement cycle. The rolling 30 day contract suits firms that won't sign multi-year deals.
Turnover in professional, scientific and technical activities runs at around 30% a year. Spill gives staff confidential, unlimited support that makes them feel genuinely cared for, which is linked to greater job satisfaction and longer tenure.
Yes. Spill's counselling is available the same day, including evenings and weekends, because plenty of people don't work standard office hours. Our therapists are available from as early as 7am GMT to as late as 9:30pm GMT, 7 days a week, with no health assessments, waiting lists or call-backs. Employees can access support via SMS, Slack, Microsoft Teams or email and book from their phone in a few clicks.
Spill offers therapy sessions in 15+ languages, so your team can speak freely with a counsellor that understands them best. Employees choose their preferred language from a drop-down when they book a session. We currently cover Armenian, Croatian, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Igbo, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovenian, Spanish, Tagalog and Ukrainian. We're adding to this list all the time, so let us know if you have a request.
Yes, Spill operates in compliance with GDPR and UK data protection law. Spill is fully secure and therapy sessions are strictly confidential. Video sessions run on an end-to-end encrypted service and all messages to and from therapists are secure. We share aggregate usage data with the company (the number of people who have used Spill) but never names. Slack and MS Teams are only portals used to sign in to our confidential platform. No session content is ever visible to them, to Spill, or to your company.
