Spill's employee assistance programme (EAP) for private equity & vc
In a ten-person fund, there's nowhere to hide a bad week. Deal cycles run hot, portfolio companies bring their problems to you, and everyone's workload is visible to everyone else. Spill gives investment teams a private pressure valve: same-day therapy sessions with top 5% counsellors, no referral step, nobody at work knowing who's booked. It's £75 a month for the whole team.
Same day counselling sessions
Rolling 30 day contract
Unlimited access from £75 per month

Proudly supporting investment teams across the UK

Small teams, big cheques, constant pressure
Turnover in financial and insurance activities runs at around 27% a year (CIPD / ONS, 2024). In private equity and venture, small teams make that worse: one burnt-out associate is a big share of your capacity, and deal cycles plus portfolio pressure leave little room to recover between sprints.
Widespread burnout
74% of chartered accountants reported some form of burnout in the past year. (caba / ICAEW, 2024)
Depression diagnosed
32% of chartered accountants have been diagnosed with or self-identified depression. (caba, 2024)
Rethinking careers
41% say burnout has made them consider changing careers or leaving the profession. (caba, 2024)
Why funds run Spill
In a small firm, one person struggling changes everything: deal flow, diligence quality, the room's whole mood. Spill keeps your team resourced through fundraises and rough portfolio quarters, and shows founders and LPs you run a serious firm.

FAQs
In a firm of ten or twenty people, confidentiality isn't a nice-to-have, it's the whole thing. If using the EAP could plausibly get back to a partner, nobody uses it. Spill has no referral step and shares aggregate data only, so even in a tiny team, nobody knows who's booked a session. Beyond that, look for specialist matching (Spill draws from the top 5% of counsellors) and no session caps, because deal-cycle stress doesn't resolve in six sessions. Sessions are same-day, bookable via Slack, MS Teams, SMS or email. Ada Ventures and Creandum both use Spill, the UK's highest rated EAP on Trustpilot. A traditional helpline EAP will undercut on price, but with call centres and 6 to 8 session caps, usage typically sits at 3 to 5%.
£75 a month, whole team, unlimited sessions. For a 12-person fund, that's £6.25 per person per month, on a rolling 30 day contract with no lock-in and no setup fee. Compare that with a traditional EAP's 2 to 5 year contract and 3 to 5% usage, and the value question answers itself. Book a demo to see how quickly it sets up.
Spill is a modern alternative to the helpline EAP. Everyone at your firm can book therapy through Slack, MS Teams, SMS or email, usually for the same day, with sessions available 7am to 9:30pm GMT, seven days a week, in 15+ languages. Therapists come from the top 5% of counsellors, sessions are unlimited, and you only ever see aggregate usage data.
Deal cycles compress months of pressure into weeks, and in a small team there's no slack to absorb it. Across financial and insurance activities, turnover already runs at around 27% a year (CIPD / ONS, 2024), and losing one investor mid-fund is costly in ways a salary line doesn't capture. Spill gives your team same-day support so pressure gets processed rather than accumulated.
Yes, Spill was practically made for firms your size. There's no minimum headcount, £75 a month covers the whole team, and you can launch in days. The rolling 30 day contract means a five-person fund takes on no long-term commitment at all.
Turnover in financial and insurance activities runs at around 27% a year, and burnout is a leading driver. Spill gives staff confidential, unlimited support that makes them feel genuinely cared for, which is linked to greater job satisfaction and longer tenure.
Yes. Spill's counselling is available the same day, including evenings and weekends, because plenty of people don't work standard office hours. Our therapists are available from as early as 7am GMT to as late as 9:30pm GMT, 7 days a week, with no health assessments, waiting lists or call-backs. Employees can access support via SMS, Slack, Microsoft Teams or email and book from their phone in a few clicks.
Spill offers therapy sessions in 15+ languages, so your team can speak freely with a counsellor that understands them best. Employees choose their preferred language from a drop-down when they book a session. We currently cover Armenian, Croatian, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Igbo, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovenian, Spanish, Tagalog and Ukrainian. We're adding to this list all the time, so let us know if you have a request.
Yes, Spill operates in compliance with GDPR and UK data protection law. Spill is fully secure and therapy sessions are strictly confidential. Video sessions run on an end-to-end encrypted service and all messages to and from therapists are secure. We share aggregate usage data with the company (the number of people who have used Spill) but never names. Slack and MS Teams are only portals used to sign in to our confidential platform. No session content is ever visible to them, to Spill, or to your company.
