Spill's employee assistance programme (EAP) for recovery & rehab centres
What does a relapse do to the person who spent months supporting that recovery? Rehab work means emotionally intense caseloads, challenging behaviour and setbacks that can feel personal even when you know they're not. Spill gives rehab centre staff same-day therapy that fits around shift patterns, with counsellors who specialise in trauma and compassion fatigue, for £75 a month for the whole team.
Same day counselling sessions
Rolling 30 day contract
Unlimited access from £75 per month

Proudly supporting rehab centre staff across the UK

The emotional cost of supporting recovery
60% of care staff have experienced burnout or emotional exhaustion. In recovery and rehabilitation work, the drivers are especially sharp: caseloads full of trauma, behaviour that tests every ounce of patience, and relapses that can undo months of progress overnight.
Compassion fatigue
60% of care staff have experienced burnout or emotional exhaustion.
Boundary challenges
57% of carers feel overwhelmed because they can't switch off from work.
Financial pressures
61% of carers worry about their finances and struggle to make ends meet.
Steadier staff, stronger recovery outcomes
Staff who can process a setback with a therapist come back with their compassion intact. That steadiness improves continuity for residents mid-recovery and keeps experienced practitioners from burning out of the sector altogether.
Protect against compassion fatigue
Help staff process the emotional weight of caring for others before it turns into exhaustion.
Keep minds on the job
Supported staff have more attention and patience for the people who depend on them.
Reduce mental health sick days
Same-day support helps issues get dealt with early, before they become absence.
All-in-one EAP for your team
Unlimited counselling sessions
A confidential space for carers to process grief, compassion fatigue or just a hard week, with a therapist who specialises in exactly that. Same-day sessions fit around shifts and nights, with no waiting lists, call backs or forms.

Self-guided wellbeing resources
A library of practical, evidence-based resources written by licensed therapists who understand the unique pressures care workers face. Covering over 200 topics from burnout prevention to compassion fatigue and grief, our online resources can be accessed at any time. They're a great first step for anyone who's not quite ready to speak to a counsellor directly.
Expert guidance and training
Practical, therapist-led training workshops designed to empower staff to spot mental health presentations within nurseries, schools and universities and know how to appropriately respond. Teachers can also check in with a Spill safeguarding clinician for advice at any time.

FAQs
A rehab centre should hold any EAP to three standards: appointments that work around shifts, counsellors with real specialisms in trauma and compassion fatigue, and no caps or exclusions, because your staff's struggles are rarely simple ones. Spill offers unlimited same-day sessions from 7am to 9:30pm, seven days a week, with counsellors in the top 5% nationally, and pre-existing or severe cases are never excluded. It's the UK's highest rated EAP on Trustpilot. Traditional helpline EAPs are worth naming honestly: they're cheaper, but they cap support at 6 to 8 sessions, run through call centres and often exclude exactly the severe cases your team is most likely to bring. Their 3 to 5% usage rates tell the story.
Spill costs £75 a month for the whole team on a rolling 30 day contract. For a centre with 25 staff, that's £3 per person per month, covering unlimited therapy with same-day availability and no session limits. Far less than the cost of replacing one experienced support worker. Book a demo and we'll walk you through getting started.
An EAP gives your staff confidential therapy paid for by the organisation. With Spill, that means unlimited sessions with counsellors in the top 5% nationally, including specialists in trauma, burnout and compassion fatigue. Staff book via SMS, email, Slack or MS Teams, usually for the same day, and sessions run 7am to 9:30pm, seven days a week, in more than 15 languages, so shift workers aren't left out.
Rehab work asks staff to invest deeply in other people's recovery, then absorb the blow when a relapse arrives. Add challenging behaviour and trauma-heavy caseloads, and it's clear why 60% of care staff have experienced burnout or emotional exhaustion. Without support, staff either detach to protect themselves or leave entirely, and both harm the people in recovery. Same-day therapy gives your team a third way through.
Yes. Independent centres and small services fit Spill well. There's no minimum team size, £75 a month covers every member of staff, and you can launch in days. The rolling 30 day contract means you can trial it properly without signing years away.
The care sector sees turnover of around 25% a year, and poor mental health is a major driver. Spill gives staff confidential, professional support that makes them feel genuinely cared for, which research links to greater job satisfaction and longer tenure. That helps you hold on to experienced carers.
Yes. Spill's counselling is available the same day, including evenings and weekends, because plenty of people don't work standard office hours. Our therapists are available from as early as 7am GMT to as late as 9:30pm GMT, 7 days a week, with no health assessments, waiting lists or call-backs. Employees can access support via SMS, Slack, Microsoft Teams or email and book from their phone in a few clicks.
Spill offers therapy sessions in 15+ languages, so your team can speak freely with a counsellor that understands them best. Employees choose their preferred language from a drop-down when they book a session. We currently cover Armenian, Croatian, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Igbo, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovenian, Spanish, Tagalog and Ukrainian. We're adding to this list all the time, so let us know if you have a request.
Yes, Spill operates in compliance with GDPR and UK data protection law. Spill is fully secure and therapy sessions are strictly confidential. Video sessions run on an end-to-end encrypted service and all messages to and from therapists are secure. We share aggregate usage data with the company (the number of people who have used Spill) but never names. Slack and MS Teams are only portals used to sign in to our confidential platform. No session content is ever visible to them, to Spill, or to your company.
