Spill's employee assistance programme (EAP) for supported living
Supported living staff do complex, skilled work, and they often do it entirely alone. A lone shift can hold challenging incidents, complex needs and split-second decisions, and afterwards there's paperwork where a debrief should be. Spill gives your team same-day therapy that fits around shifts, with counsellors who specialise in trauma and burnout, for £75 a month for the whole team.
Same day counselling sessions
Rolling 30 day contract
Unlimited access from £75 per month

Proudly supporting supported living staff across the UK

Lone shifts, complex needs, nowhere to debrief
57% of carers feel overwhelmed because they can't switch off from work. In supported living, an incident on a lone shift has a way of replaying all evening: there was no colleague there to talk it through with, so it comes home instead.
Compassion fatigue
60% of care staff have experienced burnout or emotional exhaustion.
Boundary challenges
57% of carers feel overwhelmed because they can't switch off from work.
Financial pressures
61% of carers worry about their finances and struggle to make ends meet.
After the incident report, real support
Staff who can process an incident with a therapist within days, not months, recover their confidence faster. That means steadier support for the people who rely on your service, and fewer experienced staff walking away.
Protect against compassion fatigue
Help staff process the emotional weight of caring for others before it turns into exhaustion.
Keep minds on the job
Supported staff have more attention and patience for the people who depend on them.
Reduce mental health sick days
Same-day support helps issues get dealt with early, before they become absence.
All-in-one EAP for your team
Unlimited counselling sessions
A confidential space for carers to process grief, compassion fatigue or just a hard week, with a therapist who specialises in exactly that. Same-day sessions fit around shifts and nights, with no waiting lists, call backs or forms.

FAQs
Supported living providers should measure an EAP against three things: whether lone workers on varied shifts can actually reach it, whether counsellors specialise in trauma and incident-related stress, and whether caps or exclusions will fail people at the worst moment. Spill offers unlimited same-day sessions from 7am to 9:30pm, seven days a week, bookable by SMS, email, Slack or MS Teams, with counsellors in the top 5% nationally. Pre-existing and severe cases are never excluded, and it's the UK's highest rated EAP on Trustpilot. Traditional helpline EAPs are the budget option, and honestly so: 6 to 8 session caps, call centre triage and multi-year lock-ins keep usage around 3 to 5%. After a difficult incident, a queue is the last thing your staff need.
Spill costs £75 a month for the whole team on a rolling 30 day contract. For a service with 20 staff, that works out at £3.75 per person per month, with unlimited therapy and same-day appointments for everyone, including bank and relief staff. No caps, no lock-in, no exclusions. Book a demo and we'll show you how quickly it goes live.
An EAP gives supported living staff confidential therapy funded by the provider. With Spill, staff book unlimited sessions by SMS, email, Slack or MS Teams, usually for the same day, which matters when someone finishes a hard lone shift at 9pm. Counsellors are in the top 5% nationally, with specialisms in trauma and burnout, and sessions run 7am to 9:30pm, seven days a week, in more than 15 languages.
Supported living work concentrates pressure into moments: an incident escalates, a decision has to be made alone, and then the shift simply carries on. With 57% of carers feeling overwhelmed because they can't switch off from work, those moments follow people home. Unprocessed, they turn into anxiety before shifts, sickness absence and resignations. Same-day therapy gives staff a proper place to take what the incident report can't hold.
Yes. Small and independent services get the same support as national providers. There's no minimum team size, £75 a month covers your whole staff group, and setup takes days. The rolling 30 day contract means you can start now and stay only as long as it's earning its keep.
The care sector sees turnover of around 25% a year, and poor mental health is a major driver. Spill gives staff confidential, professional support that makes them feel genuinely cared for, which research links to greater job satisfaction and longer tenure. That helps you hold on to experienced carers.
Yes. Spill's counselling is available the same day, including evenings and weekends, because plenty of people don't work standard office hours. Our therapists are available from as early as 7am GMT to as late as 9:30pm GMT, 7 days a week, with no health assessments, waiting lists or call-backs. Employees can access support via SMS, Slack, Microsoft Teams or email and book from their phone in a few clicks.
Spill offers therapy sessions in 15+ languages, so your team can speak freely with a counsellor that understands them best. Employees choose their preferred language from a drop-down when they book a session. We currently cover Armenian, Croatian, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Igbo, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovenian, Spanish, Tagalog and Ukrainian. We're adding to this list all the time, so let us know if you have a request.
Yes, Spill operates in compliance with GDPR and UK data protection law. Spill is fully secure and therapy sessions are strictly confidential. Video sessions run on an end-to-end encrypted service and all messages to and from therapists are secure. We share aggregate usage data with the company (the number of people who have used Spill) but never names. Slack and MS Teams are only portals used to sign in to our confidential platform. No session content is ever visible to them, to Spill, or to your company.
