Spill's employee assistance programme (EAP) for ux / product design agencies
Your team spends all day designing calm, intuitive experiences for other people, inside workdays that are anything but. Client politics, research deadlines and constant context-switching between projects leave UX and product designers running on fumes. Spill gives design and research teams unlimited counselling with same-day availability, booked through Slack, MS Teams, SMS or email. It costs £75 a month for the whole team, on a rolling 30 day contract.

Why UX agency work drains people
35% of agency staff feel unable to discuss mental wellness at work, according to NABS All Ears, 2023. In UX and product design agencies, where the job is literally understanding how people think and feel, that gap between what teams practise and what they experience is hard to ignore.
Considered leaving
64% of advertising and media workers have considered leaving the industry because work harmed their wellbeing. (NABS & Mind)
Stigma persists

Surging demand for help
Therapy referrals to industry charity NABS rose 50% year-on-year. (NABS, 2022)

FAQs
Apply the same test you'd apply to any product: does it actually get used? Spill is built for usage, with same-day appointments, unlimited sessions and booking inside Slack, MS Teams, SMS or email. Therapists are in the top 5% of registered counsellors, available 7am to 9:30pm GMT, seven days a week, in 15+ languages, and Spill is the UK's highest rated EAP on Trustpilot, supporting 30,000+ employees. Design teams across the UK use Spill. The honest alternative is a traditional helpline EAP, which is cheaper but caps care at 6 to 8 sessions and sees usage of 3 to 5%. By any UX standard, that's a product people have declined to adopt.
Spill is £75 a month for the whole agency, on a rolling 30 day contract. For a 15-person design and research team, that's £5 per person per month with unlimited counselling included for everyone. No per-session fees, and none of the 2 to 5 year lock-ins traditional EAPs rely on. Book a demo and see how it would work for your team.

Client politics mean designers defend decisions they didn't make, research deadlines compress thinking time, and constant context-switching leaves nobody feeling finished. Meanwhile 35% of agency staff feel unable to discuss mental wellness at work, per NABS All Ears, 2023, so the strain stays private. Giving people a confidential, same-day route to a therapist turns that private strain into something handled.
Yes. Most design agencies are small, and Spill is built for that: no minimum team size, £75 a month for everyone, and a launch measured in days. The rolling 30 day contract means a studio of eight can try it without a long-term commitment.
Agency turnover ran at 24% across IPA member agencies in 2024. Spill gives your team confidential, unlimited support that makes them feel genuinely cared for, which is linked to greater job satisfaction and longer tenure. That keeps your best people.
Yes. Spill's counselling is available the same day, including evenings and weekends, because plenty of people don't work standard office hours. Our therapists are available from as early as 7am GMT to as late as 9:30pm GMT, 7 days a week, with no health assessments, waiting lists or call-backs. Employees can access support via SMS, Slack, Microsoft Teams or email and book from their phone in a few clicks.
Spill offers therapy sessions in 15+ languages, so your team can speak freely with a counsellor that understands them best. Employees choose their preferred language from a drop-down when they book a session. We currently cover Armenian, Croatian, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Igbo, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Slovenian, Spanish, Tagalog and Ukrainian. We're adding to this list all the time, so let us know if you have a request.
Yes, Spill operates in compliance with GDPR and UK data protection law. Spill is fully secure and therapy sessions are strictly confidential. Video sessions run on an end-to-end encrypted service and all messages to and from therapists are secure. We share aggregate usage data with the company (the number of people who have used Spill) but never names. Slack and MS Teams are only portals used to sign in to our confidential platform. No session content is ever visible to them, to Spill, or to your company.
